I’ll make this a quick one; bullet point style, here we go…
- ‘Honest’ Jess Williams was my Grandfather who was a big player in Western Swing in the 40s and 50s, with “Billy Briggs and the XIT Boys” and “Sons of The West” http://westernswing78.blogspot.com/2007/08/billy-briggs-his-x-i-t-boys-panhandle.html
- He wrote and performed a song in the late 40s called “The Old Fashioned Waltz”
- That song was put in the movie, “The Killer Inside Me” (towards the end when Casey Affleck is explaining everything he did, in the car)
- The Killer Inside Me was a disturbing movie. (I have a strong stomach when it comes to most movies, but this was sick…and just a horrible film)
- It was amazing hearing my Granddad in that context but also sad that it was in that particular movie
- Seriously, would not recommend watching it
- This really shouldn’t even be a bullet point but here’s a quick left turn…
- We’re getting very close to having the record finished!

With our new 45 project almost finished, and the beginning of a new year, we are all extremely excited about what 2011 holds. We’re booking shows in and out of town, getting back into the enjoyable routine of rehearsing/writing and exploring our personal drug preferences, YEAH! Ok, that last part is not true, but this band definitely knows how to have a good time, as anyone who has been to our shows will tell you.
Also, each of us have acquired one or more new pieces of gear over the last few months. New drums, new bass, new amp, new pedals, the works….yes, you guessed it, gear buying is fun.
Keep checking in with us and we’ll see you all in town and on the road.

Sean, our other good buddy/roommate, Phil Griswold and I, just got broken into today….for the second time!! Second time in about a month. So, needless to say, we packed up all our music gear and other valuables, Sean, being the craftsman he is, threw together a barricade for the back door (used a high-powered nail gun and everything, don’t mess with us 37207!) so no more ignorant folk can try to muscle their way in. Everybody was ok, but we got a couple minor things stolen, which was good considering that they took Phil’s computer and iPhone the last time.
The dynamic Eastern Block rhythm section duo is now DONE with 37207! We’re looking for a new place this very instant and hopefully we will be back at our old stomping grounds across the river in the next month or so. A welcome back shindig may be in order if that happens. It’s been a crazy day, I’ve had nothing but a muffin to eat all day so I’m going to leave this blog world, go get some food and then later, make my way to the BRMC concert at Exit/In. It will be a good way to cap off this crappy Sunday. Cheers!!
37207, BAAADD! Next Time, This Will Be Waiting For You ^

So hopefully everybody knows that we have a 2 song vinyl/digital release that will be out very, very soon. We can’t wait for it to be finished and for you guys to hear it. The sounds that Ben Campbell got were really amazing and Allen Salmon’s mixes are going to be a very nice compliment to the recordings. I feel like these songs mark a new beginning of sorts, or better yet, another level of creativity and motivation for all of us. We have been working hard on getting some regional shows and spreading our music around to new listeners, which we gladly thank our fans for being the great people they are and helping us out in that area, seriously, could not ask for a better group of people.
Anyways, all of that said, we are really looking forward to the coming months and we hope that all of you will keep spreading the word and coming out to shows. That’ll be all for now I suppose, have a blamming blamday (Thanks Phil Turner!) and we’ll see you soon.
A couple of us will be hanging out at the art crawl tonight. It’s an awesome thing, so come hang out!

So here it is, Past Palace cover art. Have we mentioned how excited we are about this being out? Well, we are. It should be here in a couple weeks at the most and it, along with the self titled EP, are also on their way to iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, etc… We’ll let everyone know when they will be available so you and your friends can commence downloading. Again, we can’t wait to share our first album with you and to also take it out on the road. Help us spread the word! See you soon.
